Fall & Winter 2012/2013

Here are our Fall family pictures taken by my sister in law Michelle  and  her mom.  They turned out awesome!  They always do such a great job!

Our Katie.
Here is Katie with her friends at our church Halloween party.
They had a Dr. Suess theme at Chris's work.  Chris dressed as the Lorax.  Everyone loved his costume!  Later when we went trick-or-treating kids kept saying: "The Lorax, The Lorax."

Katie and I dressed as witches.

Watch out!  We'll put a spell on you.

In November we went to the Boise Temple open house.  We went with our friends who live across the street from us.

They did a wonderful job on the remodel.  It's so beautiful inside and out!  It's so wonderful to be able to feel such a sweet peaceful feeling at the temple.

Katie and Chris made a huge leaf pile.
Here's Katie getting ready to jump in.

Cowabunga!
Katie had the great idea of cutting her pancakes into shapes.  She had a blast.
Here's another one of Katie taking a picture of herself.  Too funny.
Katie and Daddy.

We went to a Christmas party at our church.  Our friends were able to come with us again.  We had a great time.  We had good food and a wonderful program with music and skits.  The kids got to decorate their own sugar cookies.

Katie loves to play in the snow.  Here she is playing in the first snow that stuck to the ground this season.

On Christmas Eve we had a party at my sister Deedra's house.
Grandpa Tony dressed up as Santa to deliver gifts.

Katie received a purse and headbands which she loved.

Then a bunch of us posed with reindeer and santa picture props that Grandma LaVerne made.

Katie and Daddy made cookies for Santa this year.

They left them near the tree and Katie feel asleep waiting for Santa.  Then Daddy took her up to bed.

He ate them and drank the milk!

Here's Katie opening her presents:

Santa brought her new doll furniture to go in her doll house.

He also brought her the dog she wanted - a little dog that barks, and wiggles his head around.

Daddy took Katie sledding. She had a blast!

Katie's dance class had a parent recital in January.  Here a few pictures.

They danced to some winter and nutcracker songs.

They also did a dance to a penguin song.

Katie sucking on a lollipop.

For Valentine's Day (celebrated on Saturday instead of Thursday), Chris took me to a restaurant that we'd never been to before called "The Hawaiian Shak".  The food was so delicious!  One of the best meals we've ever had.  Then we went and explored a new store called Whole Foods Market.  Then we went to Dairy Queen.  Chris had a peanut parfait and I had a strawberry chocolate chunk blizzard.  Yum!  Then we hung out with Colby and Krista for a little bit when we went to pick up Katie.  We had fun chatting and Chris played with the kids chasing them and letting them ride on his legs/feet.  We had a great date night!

So glad to get our blog caught up.  Be sure to check out our post from earlier today: Summer 2012.

Here a few stories:

One day when we were driving Katie asked me: "Mom, are babies naked when they're born?"  I answered: "Yes sweetie they are."  Katie: "Eww, that's gross!  Why are they naked?"  I answered: "Well, because mommies tummies can't make clothes."

And last night when we were driving to Grandpa Art and Grandma Lynn's house, Katie asked me why the moon was following us.  I told her because the sky is so big it looks like it's following us.  Then she asked how big the moon was.  I told her I wasn't sure but it was like the earth was an orange and the moon was a ping pong ball.  Then she said: "how about the earth is like an apple and the moon is like a banana."  She said the moon is like a banana because sometimes you can't see the whole moon.

Summer 2012

For the 4th of July we went to Melba to watch the fireworks.

We ran into Chris's sister's family and we hung out with them and sat together to watch  the fireworks.  Here's Katie with her cousins.
Daddies and the kids having fun with pop-its.
An awesome firework fountain.
Gotta love the fireworks!
In July my parents, grandparents, siblings, and their families all met up for a Birthday picnic celebration at one our favorite parks.
Here are the kids anticipating the water bucket tipping.
Whoosh!
A great family pic.
Katie took this picture.  She's so creative.
We had a fun Pioneer Day celebration at the church.  We invited our good friends and neighbors who live across the street from us to come with us.  There were fun games, good food, and wagon rides.
Here's Katie launching a water balloon.

Chris and David helped out at the snow cone machine.
The kids had a blast playing in the sand.

Katie posing on the wagon ride.

Katie and one of her best friends, Kaylie.
The wagon ride took them around the school parking lot that is behind the church.  It was fun.
Katie likes to take pictures of odd things, like her feet, or close-ups of objects.  And we often find pictures like this on the camera with funny faces.  When I saw this I just couldn't stop laughing.  Too funny.

Here's Katie dancing with her dance class to Hawaiian music.  During the summer they have a different theme each week.

Aloha!
Katie took swimming lessons at the Rec Center, which she absolutely loved.
Katie and Daddy at Daddy's work party.

We love the swings!
August 16 was our 15th Anniversary.  Can't believe we've been married for 15 years already.  We celebrated by going miniature golfing with Katie, and Deedra and her kids.  Then Katie went home with Aunt Deedra and we went out to dinner at an Italian restaurant called Asiagos.  It was delicious.  Then we went to the Anniversary Inn.
We had a wonderful Anniversary.

Katie, Nikki, Garrett, and Jack in front the of the indoor  miniature golf facility.

They had great paintings of jungle, underwater, and dinosaur life.

Katie's first day of 1st grade.

Our little snuggle bug!
