June

Katie having fun with her Play-Doh.  She created pictures of  Daddy and Mommy's heads.
Katie's friend gave her a ladybug costume.  Here she is striking a pose.
Whitney and Deedra at Whitney's wedding.  Isn't she a beautiful June bride!  Deedra looks beautiful too!
The bride and groom cutting the cake.  One of Whitney's friends made the sheet cake, and I made the cupcakes.
We are so happy for Travis and Whitney!

Katie's cousin Nikki slept over and here they are all cuddled up in the sleeping bags ready to watch a movie.

Chris and Katie went camping with some friends of ours.  Here's Katie with her friend Brooklyn.  They had fun playing in the beautiful camping area.  They explored the campgrounds and found pine cones, fallen trees, and beautiful wildflowers.  They also made a giant nest out of pine needles.   Katie had fun sleeping in a tent with Daddy in the great outdoors for the first time.  Chris had fun visiting with friends and fishing.

May Activities

Katie loves to play with our "adopted" kitty.  She's our neighbor's cat but comes over here all the time to play  with Katelynn.  Our neighbor let Katelynn and I name her.  We gave her the name of Serena.

Katie loves to hold up long grass pieces or strings for Serena to swat at.

Katie and I bought a birdhouse from Michaels to paint.  Katie wanted to paint it rainbow colors.
It turned out very pretty.

Katie's dance class had a dress rehearsal the week before her spring dance recital.  Here is her class posing for a class picture.

Katelynn posing in her spring dance recital costume.

Grandma and Great Grandma came to watch Katie's dance recital.
Here we are waiting for the show to start.

Her class's theme was Aladdin.  They danced to two Aladdin songs: A Whole New World and A Friend Like Me.  The dance performances were wonderful.  Katie did such a great job!  She loves to dance!

Loves those eyes!

Katie loved getting a rose from daddy and mommy after the performance.

Here we are with our little dancer.

Grandma LaVerne with Katelynn.

Our little princess.

Here are our friends Josh and Shanda with their little dancer Evala.  She stole the show at the end of their class's performances.  Their class's theme was Winnie the Pooh.  The class was hopping  across the stage like Tigger for a ways and then they walked the rest of the way off the stage.  Evala hopped almost the whole way off the stage all by herself.  So cute!

Daddy took Katie to Parade America.  Katelynn loved this float from Childrens Store.  She wished she could have the stuffed animals.

We had a fun going away party for my brother Stillman and his wife Michelle and their kids Alex and Jayden.   They moved for a job promotion.  We sure miss them.

Here is Katie on the last day of kindergarten.

Katie with her teacher Mrs. Rich.

Katie with one of her best friends Kinley.  They were such good friends, her kindergarten teacher arranged for them to be in the same class together in first grade.

Easter - a few more pics

On Easter Sunday Katie and I went over to my sister Deedra's house to color eggs. It was a lot of fun but we had to call it quits when 2 of the dye cups got knocked over. Blue and Green everywhere. Katie was blue for a couple of days in a few spots but amazingly it all washed out of her clothes. We also had fun going for a walk on the green belt. We had some lovely Spring weather. The kids loved to see the animals along the trail: cows, goats, chickens, ducks, and birds. Nikki and Katie kept trying to feed the ducks corn kernels they found on the ground. We tried to explain that chickens ate those, not ducks, but they wouldn't believe us and kept trying anyways.

Birthdays & Easter

We had a family birthday party at Grandma's house to celebrate all of the March birthdays. Nephi and Blake also had birthdays in March but they couldn't make it. Here we have Grandma, Tamara, Alex, and Katelynn.

This year we decided to let Katie have her first ever all girl friends birthday party. Her party theme was Butterflies. Here she is painting some window hangings (she loves to paint) the day before the party. We hung them on the sliding glass door.

Katie helped bake the cupcakes and decorate for the party. She was pretty tuckered out and had a nice nap before the party. She fell asleep in the blanket box:

The girls all had fun at the party. They played outside, colored, and ate pizza and other yummy food.

And had cupcakes and ice cream. (Katie wanted cupcakes this year instead of a regular cake - with pink frosting and sprinkles. Which turned out great because I got to use my new cupcake stand I got for Christmas).

Then she opened presents and the girls all watched her new Barbie movie: A Fairy Secret. She's really into barbies and especially barbie mermaids and fairies right now. (She's really growing up - the other day she took down all her posters in her bedroom because she wanted some more grown up posters like Hannah Montana and horses.

The next day Katie and I tried out her new weaver:

Chris took Katie to one of the city Easter Egg hunts this year:

Later that day we also hosted the family Easter dinner/egg hunt at our house. When everyone first got there, the kids had a blast playing outside together on the play set, the gals chatted in the front room, and the guys had fun playing some B Ball. We had lots of yummy food and we ate out in the backyard. Then we had the egg hunt. Here are a few pics from the party:
