Mother's Day

Chris took us out to IHOP on Saturday for a Mother's Day dinner. Katie and I did our hair and nails together before we left. I had a steak omelette and blueberry pancakes.  Yum!  Chris had a Chicken Fajita omelette with pancakes, and Katie had small pancakes with bacon and eggs.  And bonus: kids eat free everyday from 4-10 pm!  Then we went to Dairy Queen after and I had a banana split blizzard, Chris had salted caramel truffle, and Katie had a strawberry kiwi Artic Rush (icee).

We also went shopping earlier in the day and I got some shirts, capri's, and pajamas.  And Katie got some pants and shirts. And Katie and I both got heart necklaces.

On Sunday we had a wonderful family get together at my Dad and Mom's house. We had a BBQ and watched "Meet the Mormons". Here are some pictures:
Cousins having fun!

Family Photos turned out great!

Market Day

Katie's school had a market day.  All the kids in her grade made or bought things to sell. Katie chose to make book marks.  We made them together.  She was having so much fun, we ended up making 70 of them.  She sold over half of them.  There were super heroes, Hello Kitty, Strawberry Shortcake, and Barbie, other animals and Mother's Day  book marks.  All of the Mother's Day ones sold.  They sold things to their fellow students, parents, and teachers; and they were able to in turn buy from their fellow students as well.

Horse Rides

We went to a community party where we ran into Deedra and Curtis and their kids.  They were almost done and ready to go so we kept Nikki with us so her and Katie could have more fun together.  Here's some pictures of them riding horses.  They loved it!

April 2015

Katie's class did a project where you choose a profile of an influential person from history.  She made a poster about Pocahontas with facts from her life and she dressed up like Pocahontas.  Everyone in her grade also did projects like this and they had a day where parents and classmates could come and view all the profiles.  The kids would tell you about their person and answer questions.

She did a great job!

Katie sent a Happy Birthday text to Alex.  I thought it was a cute picture to post on the blog.

Easter Sunday.  Time for the egg hunt!

All the cousins with their finds.

Ladybug

The other day Katie caught a ladybug and brought it home. She asked daddy what ladybugs eat. He said they eat other bugs. I asked her what she named it. She said "Sucky", because she eats other bugs.

Katie's Birthday

Katie wanted a dog cake for her birthday this year.  We looked at pictures of cakes online.

She wanted chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.

We made and decorated the cake together.

This is the style she chose.  This is the first time I've done a character cake where you have to cut the pieces and shape the cake by gluing (with frosting) the pieces together.

It turned out great!

Katie loved it!

So cute!

We made it the day before, so into the fridge till party time.

We had a lot of fun!

Katie got a ceramic horse paint set from our friend Kimber.  Here she is painting them.

She loves to paint!

Here's the party.  She had a girl party with cousins and friends.

More painting.  They are painting picture frames.

Present time.  Here are a few of her favorites.  Digi birds: they sing, both alone and together.  They are pretty cool.

Love the nail polish!  She loves painting her nails (more painting, loves painting of any type).

She also loves La La Loopsy dolls.

Picture with two of her cousins Nikki and Ellie.  The movie is from Grandpa Tony and Grandma Laverne.: 10 princess movies in one.

She also got cookies and a card from grandpa and grandma.

Katie with Grandpa Tony and Grandma Laverne.

Pinata time!  Found an Easter egg shaped one at Walmart.  Filled with candy and small puzzles of Frozen.

Whew!  That was a rough swing! Lol!

Nikki's Turn.

And here's Ellie.

Mommy took a turn too.

After a while we left the blindfold off of everyone and started lowering the pinata up and down.

As you can see, Katie and Ellie had a blast moving the pinata around for the swingers.

Happy Birthday to Katie!
