Easter - a few more pics

On Easter Sunday Katie and I went over to my sister Deedra's house to color eggs. It was a lot of fun but we had to call it quits when 2 of the dye cups got knocked over. Blue and Green everywhere. Katie was blue for a couple of days in a few spots but amazingly it all washed out of her clothes. We also had fun going for a walk on the green belt. We had some lovely Spring weather. The kids loved to see the animals along the trail: cows, goats, chickens, ducks, and birds. Nikki and Katie kept trying to feed the ducks corn kernels they found on the ground. We tried to explain that chickens ate those, not ducks, but they wouldn't believe us and kept trying anyways.

Birthdays & Easter

We had a family birthday party at Grandma's house to celebrate all of the March birthdays. Nephi and Blake also had birthdays in March but they couldn't make it. Here we have Grandma, Tamara, Alex, and Katelynn.

This year we decided to let Katie have her first ever all girl friends birthday party. Her party theme was Butterflies. Here she is painting some window hangings (she loves to paint) the day before the party. We hung them on the sliding glass door.

Katie helped bake the cupcakes and decorate for the party. She was pretty tuckered out and had a nice nap before the party. She fell asleep in the blanket box:

The girls all had fun at the party. They played outside, colored, and ate pizza and other yummy food.

And had cupcakes and ice cream. (Katie wanted cupcakes this year instead of a regular cake - with pink frosting and sprinkles. Which turned out great because I got to use my new cupcake stand I got for Christmas).

Then she opened presents and the girls all watched her new Barbie movie: A Fairy Secret. She's really into barbies and especially barbie mermaids and fairies right now. (She's really growing up - the other day she took down all her posters in her bedroom because she wanted some more grown up posters like Hannah Montana and horses.

The next day Katie and I tried out her new weaver:

Chris took Katie to one of the city Easter Egg hunts this year:

Later that day we also hosted the family Easter dinner/egg hunt at our house. When everyone first got there, the kids had a blast playing outside together on the play set, the gals chatted in the front room, and the guys had fun playing some B Ball. We had lots of yummy food and we ate out in the backyard. Then we had the egg hunt. Here are a few pics from the party:
