March 2008

Whew! What a busy month for us! Lots of birthday parties (including Tamara and Katelynn’s), a wedding, Easter, a cute new nephew named Andrew and 2 Adoption presentations. (Plus, creating a blog page). Oh yes, and a 70’s party – we got to dress up like hippies. Lots of fun! (Tamara had fun getting the costumes together – love DI and Goodwill).

Tamara made a wedding cake for her brother and new sister's-in-law wedding (Jeff and Christa). Cute, cute couple! The cake was coconut and everyone just loved it! Very yummy!

We had a fun picnic at a park with an Easter egg hunt. Katelynn just loved playing on the playground equipment. And of course she just loved the Easter candy.

This week we caught Katelynn doing some real cute things. She has been wearing dresses all week. She loves to dress up! She also loves to put on chapstick and smack her lips! Mommy caught her on her changing table trying to put a diaper on her teddy. Also, didn’t get a picture (so sad – I didn’t get the camera fast enough) – but she put on her daddy’s work shoes and had a hold of his lunchbox and was trying to open the front door to “go to work”. So cute!!!

Katelynn’s birthday was a lot of fun. We had lots of family over. She loved having all her cousins over to play. Mommy made her a Carebear cake this year, which she loved! (Plus Tamara made another coconut cake – back by popular demand!) Something real cute that happened at her party: we sang happy birthday to Katelynn and when her name was said she realized everyone was singing to her. She smiled real big and took both her hands and covered her face; which was the perfect opportunity for her cousin Alex to blow out the birthday candles! When she uncovered her face, her candles had been blown out. She had a shocked look on her face as if to say “what happened?” It was funny and sad at the same time. Maybe we should have re-lit her candles. Oh well - it was so funny! She had so much fun with her new toys, she didn’t want to go to bed (of course when do kids ever want to go to bed? – he he).

So sorry about the candles. Alex was so sad when after everybody left his party he realized that everyone had ate his cake and he didn't get any!!!!

No worries Stillman and Michelle! It was a fun night and we thought Alex' blowing out the candle was extremely funny.
