Katelynn just loves to wear dresses. She pulled this one out of the "too small" pile. Don't you just love the "matching" purple socks? (Notice also, the dress is inside out).

More tidbits

Here are some photos I took today of Katie. This is the first time she has used her Heffalump straw cup. She loves it! Also got some shots of her hand. We're letting her hand get some air now. It's looking pretty good. The weather has just been wonderful this past weekend and today. Chris is taking this opportunity to get some yard work done. His internship ended Friday so he's also very busy job hunting. Hopefully he will land a job soon.

Update tidbits

Katie's hand is doing much better and it is healing well with no complications. Whew! Katie also just had her 2-year check-up. No more shots till Kindergarten - yea!! Chris just got called to do Webelos scouts with me at church. That will be fun! (I've been doing it since last Summer but had a different co-leader). Wow - did anybody watch American Idol this week? Wasn't that a shocker that Michael Johns got voted off - he'd never even been in the bottom 3 before. Well, I'm just glad Brooke wasn't in the bottom 3 again. She's my favorite contestant. Don't forget to vote for Brooke White on Tuesdays! The calls are toll free and you can vote as many times as you want. If you've never watched American Idol before, you can go to utube and type her name in the search to watch videos of her performances. Her best performances so far are: "You're So Vain", "Love is a Battlefield" and "Let it Be". "Let it Be" definitely her best!

Katelynn's 1st ER visit

Well, I guess it would happen sooner or later. Katelynn had her 1st ER visit on Monday. Mommy was getting ready to iron a shirt and Katie reached up to grab the iron and burned herself pretty good. Dad and Mom were quite frantic (and so was Katelynn). We called her clinic and spoke to a nurse who said we needed to first soak her hand in cool water to sooth the burning (she said not to use ice because that would freeze her hand) and then, because of the size and amount of blistering of her burn, said we needed to take her to the ER. So we quickly loaded up in the car. Daddy drove to the hospital while Mommy sat in the back and tried to comfort Katie, while trying not to cry herself. Thankfully we were able to get right in to see a doctor. She has 1st and 2nd degree burns on her hand in the thumb and palm area. Katelynn felt much better after the nurse put burn medication on and wrapped her hand up. Had to give her pain medication throughout the night and yesterday. She was playing more again the next day but wanted to be held a lot more. She had her follow up visit today. The burn is doing well – pretty blistered up still, but the redness has gone down. She got a new pink bandage and of course a lollipop. So moral of the story … remember to keep your kids far away from hot irons!
